After an awful lot of trouble, with emails to-ing and fro-ing like gunshot at Waterloo, I can now proudly declare that the Division of the Damned website is finally up and running... sort of.
To be honest, I'm still not happy with it, but it's a tad better than what it was. It's only for anyone who might be interested to see the idea behind the story, or to maybe give the publishers something to mull over as well.
Thanks a lot to Richard of Struggling Authors.com for helping with the setting up and the angry emails, and also to Tee for her unstinting support and kind words. :-)
This is starting to sound like an Oscar acceptance speech, isn't it?

Right, I'll swiftly move on. I rewrote my Caesar-is-a-vampire short story, (The Ides of March) and whisked it off into the ether. Who knows, it might get printed… but it probably won't.
Whatever, it's been dusted down, given a fresh coat of ink and sent off again and that's that.

I'm thinking about phoning up the publishers who hold my manuscript again. As the 1st Anniversary of our parting draws nigh and I still haven't heard a dickey bird, (whatever that may be?), perhaps a gentle nudge might prod them into some movement on the decision front? Stranger things have happened at sea, apparently.
Think about it though, a whole year of waiting like a jilted bride, hoping the groom will turn up with the necessary paperwork for our literary marriage of convenience. I should write jilted groom there but bride reads better I think.
I'm reliably told that a year is normal but I can't seem to get my head around it.
However, as Dick Marcinko, aka. "Rogue Warrior", "Demo Dick" and "Shark Man of the Delta" liked to say, "You don't have to like it; you just have to do it".
So deal with it Reginaldus !!

I'm wibbling now, aren't I?
I'll go.
Reg ;-)
PS, Check out the website: www.Divisionofthedamned.co.uk
And no laughing!!!

Well ......... finally it's sorted and that website look is so very much the Reg I have come to know.
Are you pleased with it or have you still got changes to make?

Have you thought about putting some of your other work on your web page Reg? A sort of mini roundup of all your short stories and poems etc.?
I think it would be good.
I just added an extra page for all my bits and bobs.

Congrats on getting the website up and running :)

Hiya Tee and Kate, well, to be honest I'm not really all that happy with it. However, let's be realistic now; the only people who are going to see it are family and friends because I doubt very much that the publishing houses care about websites. It's the writing and personality that produce the Lucre, not the megabytes...
Or am I being naive?
Good idea on the short story and poem thing though, Tee.
I really like that one. Cheers for that.
Reg :-)

I thought so Reg. You have some brilliant work stashed away. What about some of the lyrics of songs also.
Maybe publishers don't get to look at web pages but their assistants do. I understand it is part of their remit.

Nor sure about the lyrics Tee, they're all of a very rough and ready nature.
I'm proud of them but the 12 songs, all of them against institutionalised religion, might put some people off, lol.
Richard and myself are both thinking of moving to a different domain provider. The thing is that we've both paid for this year, but next year I'm going to cancel my account and maybe start a site using my name, (i.e. RRJones.com or something like that).
I'm not happy with how things have worked out with Streamline, to be honest. I know you haven't had any problems and your site looks atreat, but the ridiculous catalogue of emails to implement just the few changes I made recently doesn't inspire me to work further with them.
Whatever, time will tell what the good Lord delivers, right? ;-)
