Once again the sudden, concussive shock of rejection wrecks my morning.
My short story about the 300 Spartans being vampires received an Emperor-like thumbs down from a short story magazine.
Ah well, life goes on, eh?
The new story is plodding along nicely though. After stumbling around a bit fort a while, I finally found my footing by simply erasing the part that was giving me so much trouble. Easy, innit?
Anyway, that's where I'm at right now.
Another rejection but not THE rejection and another bag full of optimism with my latest endeavour.
Oh bless you Mr Popular ........ I'm always getting rejections for my novels but we WILL get there. Did you send the short stories off to anyone from W.& A.Y.B. I noticed several lit agents and publishers on my original journey that took short stories.
Fate took a hand in things with the laptop on holiday then :-)maybe you werent meant to do any more work the second week. Just chilling and relaxing. I was lucky I was off for two weeks during our mini heat wave which lasted for exactly two weeks.
We are having our usual summer at the moment .... two warm days then rain!!!
I picked them up on the net, checked them with Predators and Editors and went from there. There's no money in short stories, Tee, but it would have been nice to see it in print.
I'll go over it again sometime and send it off again. However, at the moment I'm wrapped up in the new project, so it'll have to wait, lol.
They will give in to our persistance eventually. (I hope)
Im pleased to see your still writing though.
Of course I'm still writing, it's the only thing that keeps my mind ticking over, lol.
